The starting point is what you want your home to do. We discuss the rooms you use, your daily routines and what currently feels unnecessarily complicated. That might lead to one useful automation or a coordinated system across the property. We consider manual switches, app control and everyday operation together, so the result is comfortable to live with.
Home Assistant, Homey and Loxone offer different approaches to connected homes. We look at the devices already installed, the scope for cabling and your expectations for maintenance before proposing a platform. Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa can have a place too, where the selected equipment supports them. Compatibility is checked for the proposed devices and functions; a familiar logo alone is not a guarantee.
You do not need to automate everything at once. We can discuss an existing home, a renovation or a new build, agree the first priorities and identify infrastructure that makes later additions easier. The installation scope, configuration and handover are agreed around the project, with ongoing support requirements discussed from the outset.
ALWAYS PART OF THE CONVERSATION
Internet dependencies, subscriptions and behaviour during outages belong in the design conversation. We explain which functions depend on cloud services and where local control is available. Lighting, heating and compatible blinds can be considered together, with straightforward overrides and sensible access for different household members.
DESIGNED FOR THE DAYS THAT DO NOT GO TO PLAN
Some controls work locally; others rely on cloud services. We identify the difference and consider a separate 4G/5G or Starlink backup for the functions that need internet access. Automatic switching can help restore access, although some services may briefly disconnect.
