A home you have inherited
Moving into a connected home can leave you with unfamiliar controls, missing information or accounts still tied to somebody else. We start with the equipment, available records and authorised access.
ASSESSMENT / IMPROVEMENT / TAKEOVER
Inherited a system? Lost your installer? Tired of working around technology that should make life easier? Let’s understand what you have and agree a practical way forward.
START WITH WHAT YOU HAVE
Moving into a connected home can leave you with unfamiliar controls, missing information or accounts still tied to somebody else. We start with the equipment, available records and authorised access.
Slow broadband, recurring internet dropouts, unreliable Wi-Fi and devices that keep disappearing need investigation across the system. We assess whether a better main connection or a separate wireless backup would help. Tell us what happens, when it started and what has changed.
We can assess whether we can take the installation into care. Where a platform needs specialist engineering or restricted tools, we identify the appropriate route before promising support.
A DEFINED FIRST STEP
An agreed assessment of your existing home technology, with clear findings and a practical next step.
We confirm the areas to review, the available access, whether a visit is needed and the assessment fee before booking. The scope can include networking, automation, access configuration and the condition and supportability of connected equipment.
The review establishes the position. Repairs, replacement equipment and ongoing support are separately scoped unless expressly included.
A CONSIDERED TAKEOVER
Share the symptoms, model numbers and any existing drawings or records. We arrange a secure way to handle any credentials needed later; please do not email passwords.
We inspect the agreed systems and authorised access, and establish what can be backed up before changes. We identify urgent faults and specialist dependencies.
We explain what can be retained, what needs work and what is no longer supportable. Approved changes are documented and tested against the agreed outcomes.
We agree coverage, support contacts, maintenance and monitoring where appropriate. Your Home Record provides a starting point for the ongoing relationship.
THE HOMETECH HOME RECORD
An understandable record of the technology we look after, with the handover contents and maintenance responsibilities agreed in your project or care plan.
Know what is installed, how the important parts connect and who to contact. We agree account ownership and access with you, and handle credentials through a secure process.
As the installation changes, keeping its record current can form part of ongoing care.
For the agreed systems. Available records, access and backup facilities are checked during onboarding.
BEFORE WE BEGIN
We assess useful existing equipment before recommending replacements. Condition, access, compatibility, security and ongoing support determine what can sensibly stay.
We assess the actual installation and confirm our capability before accepting responsibility. Some systems require the original project files, manufacturer access or an appropriate specialist. An assessment is not a promise that every platform can be supported directly.
A short description of the problems, the main equipment brands or model numbers, and useful photographs that do not expose passwords, access codes or private information. We will explain any further information we need.
Yes, where the installation is suitable. We identify any initial work, then propose the systems covered, service arrangements and ongoing price.
A quick fix or a bigger plan.
